Meebo opens up - adds applications and APIs

http://blog.meebo.com/?p=370

Meebo continues to amaze and delight. They had me at hello, which was web-based IM for multiple services, no downloads, no Java. Then they let me talk across multiple services. They added group chat. Logging. Millions of other enhancements like the sound alerts and visual cues (via the browser!) for new messages. A chat widget I can add to web pages for people to talk to me. Meebo rooms, which can include multimedia you can share with a group. They are super-responsive and sensitive to their customers, for instance speeding up shutdown times recently.

Now they have kicked it up another notch by opening up their platform ala Facebook for applications. For instance rather than writing video and audio chat, they just wrote an application for some of the other great services out there. And other developers can use it too! Awesome. These guys rock!
